Plymouth Kid Add-On
After 7 years being charged at £1.50, the ‘Kid Add-On’ tickets will increase to £2.
Plymouth Season Tickets
Plymouth day tickets will increase by £1, with weekly tickets increasing by £4. There will be no change to Plymouth Schools tickets.

Stagecoach
Never pay more than £3 for your single journey
Great value bus travel continues, with single journeys capped at no more than £3*
Bus travel is still a great value way to get from A to B
We’re taking part in the National Bus Fare Cap Scheme which means that from 1st January 2025, a single bus journey in England will be capped at a maximum of £3 - yes that’s less than a cup of coffee from a high street cafe. So go grab that coffee in Plymouth, its just £3 to get there from Tavistock. Or take a trip over to Exeter for a spot of shopping - yes, you've guessed it, its just £3 from Exmouth and Sidmouth!.
Will all single journeys cost £3?
£3 is the maximum you will pay. Lots of our fares will cost less - in fact most single journeys across England will be less than £3, offering great value on everyday trips especially within towns and cities. For those longer journeys, the fare cap ensures you will never pay more than £3 for a single trip. Where could your £3 take you?
What are the ticket prices across the South West?
We have 2 single ticket prices** depending on where you are travelling:
- If you are taking a local, short trip you will pay £2 for a single*
- If you are taking a longer distance journey or going from one town to another then your single ticket will be capped at £3
Single ticket prices in your area
You can check the new single prices which will apply from 1st January 2025 in advance by using the journey planner on the Stagecoach website from 20th December 2024
Would it be possible to write about how fares have changed in the last five years please? It feels like a Dayrider has gone up quite a bit since 2019
ReplyDelete£7 is very high price. I just Hooe Stagecoach don't follow suit on this
Deleteyou've missed the stagecoach price update in the previous post
DeleteNot really.....back in 2010 when i moved to plymouth it was £3.30. In 2019 it was something like £4.70 so a rise of £2.30 in 5 years isnt a great deal, and inflation over the years has had a part of it.
DeleteDriver told me today basically all fares will be £3 single, £6 return, except a small number of very short trips (less than 2 mile, example city to mutley that will be around £2.50 ish single £5 return
ReplyDeleteThat is just Citybus BTW, sorry
DeleteSeems if Stagecoach app is correct, Stagecoach will be £2 or £3 single depending on distance. Services 1/1a city to Crownhill and all points between £2 single, £3 to Derriford or beyond. Likewise on 1a/2, it is £2 as far as Plymstock Broadway and to north prospect shops. Also £2 on entire 30/31 and 52 route. Not sure on returns as this never seems to work on app!
DeleteI have just checked Stagecoach app and returns are showing, as above all areas that are £2 single will be £3 return! This makes Stagecoach same price for return as citybus single on large parts of all main corridors in the city . Definitely different tactics here with Stagecoach actually reducing return fares well done Stagecoach!
DeleteI’m annoyed at the fact that the Torbay Megarider is going up to £28. It’s gone up by £10 since 2022. I’ve bought a 4 week megarider just before the increase luckily, so at least I’ll save a bit of cash over the next month.
ReplyDeleteDoesn’t that put the Citybus day and week tickets more expensive than a Skipper?
ReplyDeleteNo because skipper is going to too... £7 50 day version
DeleteThe skipper ticket has increased to £7.50 for a day, £30 for a week and £106.80 for 28 days according to Stagecoach app and citybus site
