Back in June when we reported the new registration for Roselyns 72 which attracted a comment “Roselyn doing that in 19 mins during the summer is ridiculous times”
Peter Murnaghan was out and about in Looe and observed the 72 in operation and sent these photos and comments:
Roselyn started operating their 72 service from Tregoad to Trelawne holiday complexes, via Looe Bridge on Monday. It's good to see the return of the historic 72 route number. However, that's about all that's good.
The first journey started the service around 20 minutes late this morning and, with a tight schedule and crowds of holidaymakers and their cars, the late running is only going to get worse throughout the day.
The helpful ladies in the Tourist Information Centre at Looe's Millpool Library have not been provided with any timetables for this service. But as the timetable bears little resemblance to the arrival times of the bus, it's probably of little consequence.
As for the odd livery I do wonder why they didnt repaint the whole bus green which would have looked a lot smarter, unless its to look more like the Transport for Cornwall network from the front at least? (Although it was in red when acquired by Roselyn so if that was the case then they could have just left as it was)
Thanks to Peter for the photos.
I thought the same thing when i saw the front had been left Red & sort of get why they done it as people bound to think Red ahh TFC , the whole Nearside has a advert for Tergoad Holiday Park though this ones not been used as much that I've observed as they have another B7RLE SK07CGV in the old Roselyn livery which seems to be out more though its not as tidy paint wise as the above ! it has to be said though the new Roselyn livery looks very smart the whole bus would look much better in that & its also good to see them given some bus work a go some much need variety from endless Red ADL's but this corridor seems well served by Go Cornwall so a brave move by Roselyn.
ReplyDeleteJust out of curiosity, what is Roselyn using as ticket machine? Zooming in on the image it looks like they using just a chip and pin machine.
ReplyDeletePossibly a hand held etm? Many small operators have these for use on minibuses and coaches.
DeleteThat's what I thought
DeleteIt does look like it. Is that legal ?
ReplyDeletePerhaps the driver's got an Almex down below, in a box.
It's possible it's an handheld machine I've seen those around
