The two blue Enviro 400s recently acquired from Go Ahead Oxford Group have both entered service in Plymouth today in the blue base livery as received but with Transport for Cornwall fleet names. 542 was on the 50s today and is seen here making short work of the hill out of Keswick Crescent this evening.
Of course this isn't the first time Citybus have dallied with blue Enviro 400s…
A good idea for Citybus would be a reintroduction of the flashes. This time doing Cornish services into Plymouth. All the colour flashes with maybe MMCs or e40DS. Like the 11 could go back to being the blue flash, etc. idk, just a thought, bring the flashes back. The e20d would look good as the green flash againš.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a shame to repaint those. (Allthough 539 and 540 apparently have) That blue actually looks quite good against the white Branding. Pretty smart.
ReplyDeleteno apparently about it, they're red! white on blue looks smart - probably because we've not seen it since the B7RLEs left.
DeleteLooks like 465 has gone to t wigley
ReplyDeleteAlthough it was tracked on service 75 today
DeleteI may have fleet number wrong it was the 1 that went under bridgr in truro
Delete461 hit the bridge in Truro last September
DeleteThat would be 461 that went under the bridge, 465 is definitely working out of Liskeard today
Delete541 was usedo n Plymouth argyle last night
ReplyDeleteThey’re all pressed into service now, two on the 21/21A (one red, FHE. One blue, FHF) and one on the 12 (red, FHD), the other hasn’t been in service since being on the PA3 last night.
ReplyDeleteWonder if the PA3 one was damaged by football fans, or is simply broke, surely it would be out in service else
DeleteAs of today (21/02) only 542 has managed an entire days service. 539 (the only Cornwall bus) finished early replaced by 2026, 540 also finished early and 541 wasn't out today. 540 and 542 have been on the 21s today.
Delete541 in bodyshop for repaint into red.
Delete540 currently in use as the Keyham shuttle to the Life Centre.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to ride on one of these and was initially disappointed to see that I had just missed 542 this evening when I had to get into town on the 50. That disappointment soon faded as we caught the next 50 only to find 542 sat at the next stop - just outside Asda broken down and waiting for us to take its passengers. It would have been a very short ride!
DeleteAnd it looked like 542 might have been the best in a bad bunch. Oh well, looks like they do break down a lot...
DeleteThey came all the way from Oxford to here without breaking down. They were fairly reliable on the Oxford-Reading X40s.
Delete542 off the road the last two days. 540 pulled off of the road today too. Excellent start.
DeleteI have had many conversations with people who have confirmed that they were troublesome towards the end of their life at Ox. Not surprising when you think of it... Oxford to Reading is no small route...
DeleteOne of the blues has been repainted to red, what a shame. They looked so good in the blue as well.
