The first batch of buses heading their way to Plymouth in the New year have been confirmed by Oxford Bus Company via the excellent Oxford – Chiltern Bus Page

From their registrations you can see they were new to Southern Vectis

Hopefully these will be for the Plymouth fleet!
Although not specifically mentioned as heading to GSW they do mention that other buses leaving the Oxford fleet in the new year include Enviros 40H 300-317 and 351-369 Volvo B5LH / Wright. It remains to be seen if any of the Enviros do end up in Plymouth.
I wont be bringing the usual round up of service notifications this week so will save any that do come through until the New year.
4 doesnt seem like many. Could we possibly see more E400s from London or another GA group.
ReplyDeleteit seems we are due more in the new year, possibly some or all of the 300-317 batch but not confirmed.
DeleteAre these additions or replacements for older buses? Any ideas
Deletethere are E200s due - possibly from GNW with Reg from 62 to 66 plate.
DeleteThis really is a bit of a chrimbo present!
ReplyDeleteHave a good one Graham!
The advert on the side of 1581 (now 251) advertising the forthcoming Chiltern Railways service to Oxford Parkway "arriving Summer 2015" wasn't too far out - the line opened to Oxford Parkway on 26th October 2015 and was extended into Oxford from 11th December 2016.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas everybody.
The Volvo's will be going to GoNorth West
ReplyDeleteThat would probably make sense, we wouldn’t get anything else than E400s I assume….
DeleteThey were new to Oxford. Although intended for Southern Vectis they were diverted and never got there. Oxford had them for a rail replacement service IIRC and they stayed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the confirmation G. I knew they went to Oxford when really new didnt realise they had never ran for SV.
Delete253, is actually still in service up wth THTR, at least according to their own tracking schedule. Will have to keep an eye on what arrives at Milehouse.
ReplyDeleteAny exact idea of when they're coming down? Not been down to Milehouse in ages so can't say!
DeleteNo clue, all we know is they were being "prepared" by Oxford.
DeleteCitybus fare increase from 19 Feb. All rwturn fares under £4 will increase to new minimum return of £4. Day ticket £6, Weekly £24 and 4 week £92. Increases generally of between 7 and 10%
ReplyDeleteA lot of companies are doing this, seemingly tying their fares to the £2 single now it has been guaranteed by the Government until December 2024. For Plymouth CityBus it will encourage more use of "Tap and Cap" which will save time at bus stops.
