Any information on the September stagecoach changes yet
ReplyDeletesome details are starting to come through - more details here over the weekend
DeleteThe Go Cornwall ones for September arent good. Its almost as if Go South West have completely given up and cant be bothered anymore. Service 11 massively reduced to 2 hourly. Service 73 also is 2 hourly with last bus a lot earlier than currently. Service 70 also looks like its going 2 hourly on Sundays. Buses are a lot busier and all well and good promoting a £2 single promo but why would any want to go by bus when the service has become dire. GCB were previously challenged about the 11 frequency and it was kept hourly. Im sorry to have to say it but as a user of the 11 If thats how the company wants to treat its fare paying passengers then I will go to Liskeard station and get a train and support the rail service. Go South West need to realise that they are running things into the ground!
DeleteWould be interested to know what all the Stagecoach changes are. Particularly the 1s service which I assume is a school service of some kind. Plus new 86 Tavistock circular and 38 Ivybridge to Bovey Tracey
ReplyDeleteClearly 38 is partial X38 replacement. Of course 11 was reduced to just couple of through journeys before returning to hourly due hardly any passengers beyond Trago to Bodmin PW & two hourly matches WG 593 one time frequency before it was increased so still reasonable for a part of the route with hardly any chimney pots.
Deleteonly my understanding from how i have read things and nothing official, but believe the 1S is a school working, the 86 is the splitting of the current 89 Tavi local, and 38 is another reworking of the X38, 38 will run Ivybridge to Bovey, then change to a 138 and continue on to Exeter, no through service to Plymouth, unless you change to GOLD at Ivybridge, as the new 38/138 will serve Bovey will be interesting to see if the 39 get reduced in the Exeter direction too. like i said, just my own thoughts
DeleteYes 1s is school service from George to Tavistock college. New timetables on Travelline this afternoon but not major changes to 1 or 1a ... mainly filling in gaps of service on current timetable off Royal Parade around 6pm from what I can tell
DeleteFirst sent employes a list of changes for cornwall.the 72a is withdrawn the 72 becoming 10 and will run bi hourly with the 11 to give trerulefoot-plymouth an hourly service. 75a is being obsorbed into 11.
ReplyDelete12 will all run up a388 between hatt and callington with 74 extended to cover st dominicks 77 going bi hourly to give liskeard-trago qn hourly service with the 11 . Only thing it said for stagecoach was changes to 2 waiting confirmation from stagecoach and 6 is out for retender( imo may explain stagecoach decision for a consultation period over bude future)
I notice the 6/6a is showing on citybus website in timetable list. Is this a hint that Stagecoach are pulling out of Bude area and Go Cornwall bus are taking over 6/6a perhaps? Looking at changes Go Ahead seem to be loosing interest in Cornwall as they quickly did in Devon!
Deletecant see how they are losing interest in Cornwall? At the end of the day its Cornwall County Council that call the shots as they are paying for it all.
DeleteAnonymous at 18:41 - Go Cornwall Bus already operates the Sunday 6/6A so that accounts for it being on their timetable list. That's not to say they won't take on the Monday-Saturday 6 if Stagecoach closes its Bude outstation.
DeleteJulian 29 July 18:41 Stagecoach already registered 6/6A to continue, guess from Exeter end with Bude depot closing? Citybus told Devon it is stopping current Sunday 6/6A (it only stepped in after SC won previous contact but then declined it leaving no other bids) with the results of a new round of Sunday tendering not yet made public except for SC winning a college weekday journey.
