There will be more posts this coming week…
It won't be quiet soon with confirmation Stagecoach is back on 5A/B/C
ReplyDeleteDidn't take long for Go Devon bus to disappear..lol
DeleteWhen are stagecoach taking them over
Delete5 June from memory but don't expect anywhere near the same level of frequencies!
DeleteHope so
ReplyDeleteGraham, I think you will find the Devon County Show is at Westpoint, Nr Exeter not North Devon
ReplyDeleteyou are right - but the registration specifically says North Devon Showground - probably in error.
DeleteBe nice to get double deckers back on these routes
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, not certain all will be DD but the peak student flows I suspect need to be so hopefully all off peak workings will also be
DeleteThey start early June. Confirmed on Devon gov website
ReplyDeleteThe Stagecoach changes in Torbay from Sunday 28th May are now out, mostly just timetable changes with a few journeys cancelled (inevitably). One plus is that the 12 now operates until 03.00 Mondays to Saturdays, this is apparently experimental for the Summer timetable. Also the 122 open-top is restored to its full 30-minute frequency. Also the 271 Haytor Hoppa returns to it previous format, as a loop from Newton Abbot on Saturdays only, from 27th May until 16th September. For full details go to the "Promos and Offers section of the Stagecoach website and click on "Timetables in the South West".
ReplyDeleteStagecoach also has a few gains in upcoming Devon County Council contract changes (although the 5A/5B/5C is not listed).
Quite a few journeys cut with earlier finish on 120 for example and even 12 not back to every 10 minutes on Summer Saturdays (every 12 to 15 minutes) and less buses at peak school times so more crowding with tourists returning & school kids. 122 back to every 30 minutes but used to be every 20 minutes originally and doesn't serve Paignton seafront at all now (the part pedestrianisation of Torbay Rd making it harder to serve but not impossible).
DeleteWhy have Go devon given them up
ReplyDeleteGSW failed their endevour into Exeter. What a surprise.
ReplyDeleteGSW finally realising they cant have it all…
DeleteGo Devon may not have worked out quite how it was perhaps initially hoped to, but I’d hardly say they have failed in their endeavour in to Exeter… they’ve acquired Dartline! I’m sure they have a fair bit of work to do with the acquisition of that entire operation for the moment. Not quite a wilting wall flower…
Deleteit's a bit different there Anon, Plymouth Citybus failed in Exeter - Dartline are established - and yes even though they're a part of GSW. Go Devon was always going to be a temporary thing while the acquisition went through.
DeleteI hear all the Gold buses from Stagecoach South West are moving to Stagecoach Midlands Northampton
ReplyDeleteWasn't that the plan when SW was still getting the since diverted new E400 MMCs for the 12?
