Today saw the first bus route to traverse the newly-opened Platinum Parkway.
Stagecoach Devon's 52, taken over recently from Oakleys, now serves the Coypool Park & Ride site and takes a direct route along Forder Valley and Platinum Parkway, no longer serving Leigham and Estover.
I've attached a couple of shots of Enviro200 MMC 37470 (YX68 UTW). The nearside shot shows it ascending en route to Derriford Hospital, and the offside shot shows it on Pintail Way heading to Plympton, on its descent towards Forder Valley.

Surprisingly the bus does not actually serve any of the stops along this section as it runs non stop between Derriford Hospital and The Coypool Park & Ride. I for one would make use of this service if it did. Hopefully at some stage that will happen.
Such an odd re-route to use this section of route (though, from what I’ve seen, at least something is using the parkway!)
ReplyDeleteSo many people in and around Plympton disappointed at the removal of the link to Asda, and colleagues from Leigham disappointed to loose their route direct through to Plympton too!
Have Citybus got rid of 350 (Minibus)? It's not been on the road since January. Also, it looks like 251 may have reached the end too. Sad as it's a great little bus. Anyone have any info?
ReplyDelete251 on Yelverton routes today.
DeleteHow has stagecoach gone platinum they only have buses mostly in Plymstock a few in saltash and Tavistock, the 200 and 52 route and expensive bus fare s day rider £5.20 hardly good value for money
ReplyDeleteThe Platinum referes to the name of the new road being served: Platinum Parkway. I am not suggesting anything about the level of service from Stagecoach!
