I did wonder if CityBus route 59 would be rerouted via Merafield as a part-replacement for the 19. It could yet happen as a short-notice variation.
ReplyDeletethat is a good idea to reroute the 59 but question is can citybus be trusted to keep a right sized bus for it on there,,, would make a great place to use the new SRs in though
DeleteMay be sensible but a Devon tender so unlikely to bailout Plymouth CIty Council unless it coughs up!
DeleteWill Stagecoach be taking over any other Filers bus routes
ReplyDeleteNo not currently that I know of, not that it has a great deal left from its previous bus war days fighting Cawlett!
DeleteCouncil are also wanting E200's on the 4's... It was subsidised originally and with small buses, I don't know why they would want to spend more money operating bigger buses when they're making cutbacks. They should put Solo SR's on them, given the fact the 2/2A/5 and to a lesser extent the 3 and 48 as well and the plethora of 4's.
ReplyDeleteThe new 4 group in Plymouth is serving an area of new housing which is still under construction, bigger buses will be needed as the housing becomes occupied. It's better to have the capacity in at the start otherwise the residents will find other means of travel.
DeleteThe 4 is paid for by section 106 developer funding which has to be spent locally on that route
