Cause adverts makes money, branding doesn't, and the existing branding was created without advertising in mind. I'm sure the design team will ensure future concepts have the advert frames included
The Spark branding made an impact when the vehicles were new, but not so much after a few years. The Spark branding was applied in such a way that it could be covered by advertising later. At least the advertising brings in a bit of extra revenue!
The Spark brand like the flash branding was just a gimmick that did nothing in my opinion. Look at East Yorkshire/Brighton & Hove/More Bus they have lovely brand new buses or well looked after second hand/older ones with clean interiors and the whole company just looks well presented. Then compare that to Citybus, you've got half the fleet in the better old style branding, some of the fleet in TFC/PCB mixed liveries or showing the old livery. A handful in GoDevon livery and the rest in Spark/adverts or the cheapy "new" citybus livery. The interiors over the past 10 years have been awful the only decent ones being the B7RLE's which have all gone. What kind of impression does this give to someone visiting Plymouth?

Should open this up as spot the difference
ReplyDeleteAd frames been added to atleast some of the Spark buses
ReplyDeletewhy would you cover the branding for the ad frames?? makes it look a bit unprofessional
