Its been very quiet this last week on the registration feed with no local changes registered and none due this coming week
There are however a load somewhere in the system I expects to start coming through on the feed shortly as there seems to be a big backlog, and we also have the September timetables starting to be announced by operators.
So lets have a look at what Plymouth Citybus have announced so far:
Our new timetables come into effect from Sunday 5th September. The increased reliability of services will make travelling by bus even better.
The majority of changes are to services through routes prone to high congestion. The revised timetables take these into account, so your bus is more likely to arrive at the time it should.
James Church, Commercial and Customer Manager of Plymouth Citybus said: “We’re constantly looking at our timetables and adapting them to our passengers’ needs. Now Covid restrictions are reduced, it’s great seeing more people coming back onto the buses and to be able to provide even more choice for our passengers.”
To cope with the increasing demand for buses, some routes through Efford, Eggbuckland, Crownhill and Woolwell now have extra journeys.
Plymouth Citybus has also been working with the NHS’s Lighthouse Laboratory, extending routes and adding extra journeys to accommodate staff needing to travel from the new Estover site to Derriford Hospital.
Some of the routes crossing the Tamar have also been updated, with extra journeys for service 12 from Plymouth to Bude, and the 172 taking the place of the 72 and including Crafthole.
Full details of the changes are below, and you can also check individual services on each service page and via the Plymouth Citybus app. Timetables will be available in paper format from late August.

Then we have a lot more for the Cornish operations:
Go Cornwall Bus is launching new timetables which come into effect from Sunday 5th September. There are new services and more reliable services, making travelling by bus even better.
In pole position is the new route F1. This new service between Falmouth and Truro runs every hour, providing a faster alternative than the current routes between the two towns.
Next on the grid, the new 190 is a new service serving Callywith College, ensuring a more even spread throughout St Austell, alongside the current 188 and 189 routes.
Travelling between Bodmin and St Austell will be easier, with a half hourly service provided through either the 26 via Bugle or the 26A via Roche, and within Bodmin, the 54 and 54A will make it easier for passengers to choose the route around the town that suits them best.
The majority of timetable changes are minor to ensure buses run on time, to accommodate schools and colleges and to address issues Go Cornwall Bus have been made aware of.
Service 3 is a new standalone service for Penzance which will cover the local supermarkets, and some journeys have been extended due to demand.

I think that will do for now!
I have started work processing all of these so there will be a proper summary before these all start at the beginning of September
It looks like Stagecoach will also have some timetables changing from the same weekend and probably others too…
What are they referring to with ‘… avoid carriageway crossing in Saltsh’?
ReplyDeleteOnly thing i can think of is they gonna send services to carkeel roundabout instead of turning onto liskeard rd
ReplyDeleteIt's odd what little they make of the 25A when it's actually a completely new service, yet make out the 3 to be a completely new service when in fact it's just the Penzance town end of the current 16/16A.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, all this gives First something to think about.
Indeed yes as it doubles the Citybus presence in Fowey & seems to directly compete with the existing commercial First 24!!
DeleteThe changes in St Austell do seem to be downplayed. The 25 is cut back to just St Austell to Fowey, but doubled in frequency with 25A/B routed like First 24 and the the 25A covering the 28 to Luxulyan. The new 26/26A competes with the First 27, but at twice the frequency and faster by doing Bugle or Roche and not both. The 29 is the 25 replacement from St Austell to Newquay. Between them they cover more links in St Austell. This is getting more interesting.
