Very interesting news from First in Cornwall…
Truronian Coaches takes on classic coach operation
Cornwall-based Truronian Coaches, has added the iconic, classic coach operations of King Harry Coaches to its growing business portfolio.
Since 2003 King Harry Coaches has been providing bespoke classic coach hire in the Cornwall market and has built a strong reputation for providing stand-out coaches in this niche market that demands high quality and outstanding customer service.
Two coaches have transferred to the Truronian fleet along with the current order book, and access to all future business and bookings.
King Harry Coaches will continue to market bespoke hire alongside Truronian itself, with all operations taken on by Truronian. The classic coaches will become the first vehicles to adopt a new ‘Truronian Classic’ sub brand, with further additions planned to join the fleet later this year. The ‘Truronian Classic’ brand has been created by Best Impressions.
Truronian has expanded to become one of the South West’s leading coach and contract businesses, operating across Somerset Devon and Cornwall, and specialising in VIP and team transport, PSVAR rail replacement, educational contracts, general private hire and touring.
Lee Horrocks, Business Manager at Truronian Coaches said “We’re delighted to be able to take on and continue the provision of classic coach hire from our friends at King Harry Coaches. Their focus on outstanding customer service and attention to detail is something we will continue to deliver and we’re excited to be able to add the two beautiful classic coaches to our fleet”
David Russell of King Harry Coaches said “The time has come for us to hand over the King Harry operation. We approached our friends at Truronian knowing that their enthusiasm and professionalism in the coach market was second to none. We were delighted at their enthusiasm to take on and develop the King Harry product. The coaches and the ethos of the business are safe in their hands”.
Marc Morgan Huws is Commercial Director at First South West Ltd, Firstbus’ regional business that includes the Truronian business unit. He said “We’ve been steadily growing and diversifying our business in the South West. Truronian is a key element of that strategy and has grown into a diverse regional business unit in itself. 2021 has seen more high quality PSVAR vehicles join the fleet, our first double deck executive coaches and an additional team coach…and now the two iconic classic coaches with the King Harry Coaches business.
“We see expanded opportunities and synergies with our existing VIP and hire business from the addition of the King Harry Coaches business, allowing us to build back better’. 2021 is a real landmark year for the Truronian business.”
The two coaches joining the Truronian fleet are UUO 198, a 1956 Bedford SBG Duple Vega,
and AFJ 77B, a 1964 AEC Reliance Harrington.
Excellent news – and all eyes will be on the company to see what other vehicles join the fleet over the coming months.
