In the meantime Happy New Year everyone!

    1. The 502 currently operates via Bristol and is operated as an extension of the London-Bristol service hence the Boa Vistas.

    3. As it happens, all National Express services are suspended after Sunday 10th January. A provisional restart date of 1st March has been made, but this is very much provisional on the vaccine rollout and easing of restrictions allowing more journeys to be made.

The Falcon is continuing to operate, but will be temporarily reduced to seven daily return journeys from Sunday 10th January.

Stagecoach, Plymouth CityBus and independents are all operating school holiday services and all of the extra student journeys for social distancing were suspended last week, although Stagecoach have modified a few journeys to meet the needs of students who still need to travel to and from school or college.

  2. First SW new registrations show return of Transmoor link as their first Plymouth registration. Plymouth Royal Parade to Exeter via Tavistock, Princetown and Two Bridges starting 12 February. Now called Dartmoor Explorer. Hopefully 1st of many to come but confirm First return to this side of Tamar

    1. A very interesting service to register as their first point of a potential return, particularly at this time of year and given the current restrictions on our own movement!

    2. Interesting. Devon County Council had been seeking additional Department for Transport funding to restore weekend links such as this one. Maybe this is a way for First to use college contract buses that would otherwise be lying idle at the weekend?

    3. And the drivers too I would suspect... but is this it for First registrations here? It does seem an odd time to launch but could iron out any issues before summer. I assume it is a weekend only service. Await timetables to appear now

    4. there is something even better planned to be used there instead of the spare collage buses

    5. Where did you find the info regarding that as First South West are apparently taking over the Stagecoach Plymouth network

    6. The Dartmoor express is registered on VOSA/traffic commissioner site. No confirmation of there being anything else from First in the area or Stagecoach cancellations IF thus is true

  3. Julian, Devon County Council did NOT go ahead with tendering for service 82 due to the pandemic with First registering its Dartmoor Explorer commercially but will it actually start on 12 Feb - unlikely I'd say!!

  4. Yes, clearly weekend work for school buses but let's hope that DCC doesn't kill it this time by splitting it in half and letting it be run by Darts and Solos....

So it will launch on 12 Feb for ESSENTIAL TRAVEL ONLY (can't see much demand for that across rural Dartmoor) is what you are saying or do you have inside info from Boris that the lockdown is being lifted beforehand, good news if true - please share!!
