Catching up on the other buses withdrawn by Plymouth Citybus:
480 PK02RFF
482 PK02RDU
483 PK02RDV
484 PK02RDZ
486 PJ02RFJ
I for one will miss these buses as they were by far the best of the second hand buses that have joined the Citybus fleet.
It seems likely that some of these buses will send up with Roselyn Coaches.
Following on from this mornings post – it can be confirmed that 434 X546EGK was withdrawn a good while back. This means that the front line DD fleet is now all Enviros.
Other news – is that the 4 Enviro 200s recently acquired from Yorkshire are now being prepped for repaint. It is expected they will receive the new Citybus livery – but this has not been confirmed.
Finally for now it is rumoured that some of the older coaches in the fleet are being replaced shortly. It remains to be seen what with!
Maybe(just a thought) go ahead oxford as there x90 gets withdrawn next weekend tho a few coaches will end up on the 102(which gets extended from beconsfield to heathrow) some coaches will be left routeless.
ReplyDeleteAlso saw a e200 in spray booth tho had no plates or fleetnumber so no id sorry
I have not heard anything official - but I agree that at least some Oxford coaches sound likely. They are quite a bit newer than the older coaches they should replace.
ReplyDeleteGo North East are currently taking 5 new coaches for National Express duties - I suspect that these will replace an equal number of “63” plate Volvo B9R/ Caetano Levante, might these be coming to Plymouth?
ReplyDeletenoticed there's a few buses which haven't been around for a while. Anyone know anything about any of these? 53, 139,475,514?
ReplyDeleteall are still in service, just vor for work. same as bus 61.
Delete53 - Engine blown after doing the service 71?
Delete139 - Unknown
475 - The 4th time it's been off the road, the last route it did before its 4 absenses was the 51 each time
514 - Major defect on the PM service 103 a few weeks ago
514 is back on the road now I believe.
Delete514 is now back in service as of 3/1/20 on the 34
Delete61 is back on the road as of this morning
Delete481 and a stripped down Dart (253?) on tow behind wreckers at speed on A38 northbound this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteCould have been 53? I dont believe 253 has been at Milehouse for quite a while
DeleteIt was 64 that was on the back of the truck.
Delete481, 253 and 64 were parked next to each other in the Lower Yard on the 4th December. Both Darts were heavily stripped.
ReplyDeleteTo update 481 and 64 have now departed for scrap.
DeleteWas 64 withdrawn with accident damage or mechanical fault?
ReplyDeleteAccident Damage and Chassis Rot making it un-economical to repair.
DeleteWhy was 17 withdrawn and scrapped
ReplyDeleteBlew the head gasket and was un-economical to repair.
Delete253 was withdrawn after it caught fire in Albaston on the 79,
ReplyDeletethe new buses for GAL Route 100 have started arriving, meaning the existing 10 2014 E200s will be headed for plymouth in the next few weeks.
ReplyDeleteAren't the new E200's going via ADL for some mod's before Plymouth?
DeleteThe new BYD E200s are apparently being brought into service on the 100s this weekend. So may see some movements to ADL / W&D Trim
DeleteYX56 HVJ is confirmed as 165, in swoops livery, was in service today, 14/01/20 on route 20A
ReplyDeleteStill no sign of 139, i understand 155 is in the paint shop, 475 is still VOR also. 164 in the paint shop too.
ReplyDeleteIs 139 in Cornwall running Callywith routes? 155 out if Free flash? With 165 on the road that makes sense on 164.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen 473 and 474 for ages, are they in Cornwall too? I'm guessing 515,516,517,518 and 519 are
Dont believe 139 is in Cornwall. 155 not out yet, soon though in
DeleteSwoops I guess. Theres a lot of 63 plate E400s in Cornwall atm
Seems like its only the new deckers getting the Lines livery as 155 has emerged with Swoops
DeleteYX56 HVG is confirmed as 163, in swoops (with additional wheelchair friendly stickers above windscreeen), was in service today, 21/01/20 on route 23 (when I saw it)
ReplyDeleteAll 4 EY vehicles swooped (as of Monday 20th January 2020)
ReplyDelete162 did 40/41/44/44A then evening 61/62
163 did the 5/5A
164 did the 43
165 did the 40/41/44/44A
Weren't 162-165 due to go in the 20/20A?
ReplyDeleteAlthough with the Cornish expansion perhaps they will live on longer. Although we still expecting a batch from London aren't we - perhaps they will be painted ok into Cornish branding
Those ex-yorkshire darts were meant to replace the Scanias, yes, but indirectly as putting buses with 45mph limiters on the A38 isn't going to keep to time very well. As for the 64 plate darts from London they should be making their way to Plymouth in the coming weeks via ADL for some work (presumably single door conversions).
DeleteThere's an interesting bus swapping going on in Cornwall in particular on 11A - lots of deckers coming from Padstow, and swapping with a Citaro / Volvo after school runs. Wonder if the 11A is going to change its destination to Bodmin Town Centre rather than Parkway going forward?
ReplyDeleteI think the E400 City's only got a modified livery to make them stand out as 'new' buses
