The recent influx of ex London double deckers for Plymouth Citybus is nothing new for Plymouth. A small batch of MCW Metrobuses were operated by First Western National as seen here back in 2002. Ironically though they did not arrive from London having been transferred down from Leicester – so they were third hand by the time we got them!
Although “interesting” to us enthusiasts I got the impression they were not exactly liked by drivers and they were not that brilliant for passengers either. They were also just as old as the VRs that they were supposedly going to replace!
To celebrate this year’s British Fireworks Championships in #Plymouth, we are putting on extra buses to help everyone enjoy the display @PlymFireworks! Find out more here: https://t.co/lTxiWEUaT0 pic.twitter.com/tyiZXaLN2u
