Today is World Environment Day
— Plymouth Citybus (@plymouthbus) June 5, 2019
We're part of a larger family called the @TheGoAheadGroup - who look after bus and train services across the UK. Go Ahead have been making big strides to improving our impact on our environment.
Watch the video to find out how ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/VRnWY4phna
- On World Environment Day, a few ways we're doing our best to lessen our impact on our environment here at Plymouth Citybus
- Lessening our buses' impact on the environment is a task we take very seriously and when you travel with Citybus you're helping reduce pollution and improve air quality. 60% of the Citybus fleet is Euro5 or Euro6 standard. We continue to lead the way on zero emission buses and our entire bus fleet will be zero emissions by 2035.
- We've slashed carbon emissions to a low 0.65kg per passenger journey, down from 0.73kg in 2017/18
- Plymouth Citybus is one of the best performing companies when it comes to carbon emissions
- A fully loaded double decker bus can take up to 75 cars off the road tackling air quality and congestion in our cities and towns
Last year @TheGoAheadGroup launched the air filtering bus on a Bluestar bus in Southampton and the results will be released later this month. All our electricity power is now generated from renewable sources. We have the UK’s first and largest all electric bus depot at Waterloo in London By the end of 2020 we will have 181 electric buses across the group
Due to major traffic congestion around the Wadebridge showground area, the service 11A is severely delayed by up to 45 minutes in both directions. This will also affect our service 11 operating Bodmin Parkway to Plymouth. Please allow more time for your journey. pic.twitter.com/FeYYTQg2fQ
