Stagecoach extend their 2 from TODAY (although they are not telling anyone about it yet) and for the sake of completeness there is a new registration for an event a couple of weeks ago!

Sherford will soon be getting its first bus service following a review of the city’s subsidised network. Launching in September, the 2A will be operated by Stagecoach South West and link the new community in the east with Saltash in the west, via Plymstock Broadway, Pomphlett Roundabout, the city centre, railway station and Milehouse. It will run every 20 minutes during the day from Monday to Saturday and hourly in the evenings, on Sundays and on Bank Holidays. |
The information above comes from Plymouth City Council. Stagecoach themselves don’t mention it at all on their web site even though they have modified route branding on some of their buses! |

It is good that Sherford is getting a bus service - I must admit I haven't been there since they started building, but I imagine quite a bit of it is in place already.
ReplyDeleteIt is a pity the new town wasn't taken as an opportunity to give Plymouth a tram system - the city layout could cope with a high-platform system, Manchester-style and there is certainly scope for tram-train operation. There is a plan, years old, for such a scheme, involving the Gunnislake line and a Trerulefoot park and ride - perhaps it is time to blow the dust off it.
Sae 37137 on the 2 in saltash earlier today still branded for ex-citi is this down for the 2 extension as id imagine an increase in pvr or had plymouth'sx38 working brokedown?
