Further to yesterdays post about the swapping of buses within Stagecoach I have received a couple of photos from Adrian, one of the drivers who collected the
As a reminder the buses that have now arrived in Plymouth are

It will be interesting to see if they gain any branding for the 93 or if they will just enter service in standard Stagecoach livery.
It's just the 3 now Graham!!
ReplyDeleteThere appears to be 5 buses? Unsure if it is a typing error, Steven Knight Media also says 5 buses.
ReplyDeleteYes that's definitely five buses listed. I did a rough working out from the new timetable and calculated that, excluding the schoolday-only double-deck journeys, the route would need five buses to operate it; so that would make sense.
ReplyDeleteIn other news Jacketts have gone out of business
ReplyDeleteNot linked to this post, it looks like Jackett's Coaches won't be featuring here any longer on the local bus scene. See the article on the Plymouth Herald website on 26/10/17 detailing very serious safety issues uncovered by DVSA after a number of incidents.
ReplyDeleteReally doesn't surprise me. I have only caught their buses twice and they were a disgrace both times
DeleteThere's quite a comprehensive article in this week's Cornish Times, too. It looks as though Trevellyan Jackett is suffering from a fairly severe dose of the Traffic Commissioners - he has 'lost his repute' and has been barred from operating and from being a traffic manager for two years.
DeleteI don't know whether you have covered this, but Citybus now have an outstation in Callington, using what was the Wesrern National/First yard just below the Co-op on New Road. Last Friday there were three Darts and one d/d in there, with space waiting for a fifth bus (last bus from Plymouth?) to fit in.
I can't find that report - if you are going to refer to an external website, please post the hyperlink!
DeleteAnonymous 26 at 18:06 and 22:22 Jackett's Coaches haven't been around for a while now and most of there vehicles are now scraped or sold on. Dunno why the media was so slow to publish it
ReplyDeleteBit off topic but Ex PCB W509WGH is now painted in black board paint and seen at Redcar Festival as a art promotional vehicle for Gumtree.

Jackets Web Site says "We no longer operate any scheduled bus services" http://www.jackettscoaches.co.uk/routes.html

If Julian is referring to the Cornish Times report, the reason I didn't give a hyperlink was because I read it in the newspaper - do you remember those things made from dead trees and covered in ink? Sorry to be so primitive!
ReplyDeleteNo need to apologise Keith, I made a faulty assumption (about it being a website) so I should apologise to you.
