Aline coaches in torpoint are haveing there own bus and coach depot built .for there new plans in the pipe line at the end off septeber.
ReplyDeleteStagecoach have gilmoss 10822 10823 10824 10839 in exeter for ba lm
ReplyDeleteAt last a new route for Stagecoach in Plymouth. It is only small but a start!! Service 36 Plymouth to Devonport from September 3rd! Replacing Citybus
ReplyDeleteAll Stagecoach Plymouth services 1/X1, 2, 2a etc changes September. Any ideas what? They have new registration city to devonport college 36. Hope not cutting 1/X1 to free resource for36 tho
ReplyDeleteSeems to be major changes this September. Stagecoach 1/X1/1p, 2/2a/2b and 100/101 all change. New service 36 to Devonport taking over from PCB also lots of changes from PCB including cancel 46 Plymouth to ilfracombe..replaced by Stagecoac
ReplyDeleteIt remains to be seen how major these changes are. 100/101 is just a timetable change. No idea what the 1P and 2P will be , if anything, sometimes the route numbers in these notices are more administrative and dont always appear in the final timetable. Citybus 46 is replaced by Dartline rather than Stagecoach from what I can see. All will become apparent over the coming weeks
DeleteGraham, stagecoach are just trying to copy Plymouth city bus as they are all changing on the 3rd september 2017
ReplyDeleteNothing to do with copying Citybus! More to do with schools going back. Operators all over the south west have service changes on 3/4th September I expect we will see a lot more to come yet.
DeleteEarly September usually means a raft of timetable changes, up and down England as operators prepare their timetables for the new academic year. This is the time when most new schools open and other schools change their hours, and operators have to register any necessary changes to their services. It is also a common time for contracted services to change hands.
DeleteNothing about the 1s and 2s on traveline but the 100 change is the it will early morning and evening journeys from the George to town. All daytime services will be the 101. Both will go via derriford hospital. They will do this all day Monday to Saturday.
ReplyDeleteWith all the Park and Rides now being 101 and stopping at all stops along Outland Road, I would think the best thing to do re chamge route/timetable on 1/X1 would be to route all 1/X1 through Mutley. 101 from Derriford every 15 mins through Outland Rd to town and 1/X1 from Derriford to city through Mutley every 15 mins. Good competition for Citybus 42s.
DeleteGood call. Timetable on traveline. Service 1 every 15 mins from September, no X1 except school runs. 101 every 15 mins from Roborough and Derriford via Mile house and number 1 every 15 minutes via Mutley. Great idea!
DeleteThat would actually be quite a good idea. I could see that working quite well for Stagecoach and could gain them extra customers between Derriford and city.
DeleteOn the other hand, the X1 journeys stop right by Plymouth Station, which is useful since it is the railhead for Tavistock.
DeleteCustomers from Ravi can always change at Derriford on to 101 for station, no extra cost and minimal wait time.
DeleteCustomers from tavi can always change at Derriford on to 101 for station, no extra cost and minimal wait time.
DeleteI think the p represents plymouth as stagecoach also have a 1 & 2 out of exeter
ReplyDeletethats pretty much what I guessed. a few operators do this on their vosa registrations
DeleteSeems like the changes are Stagecoach making a real play for customers on northern corridor and Plymstock. Derriford Hospital will get 8 buses per hour to city instead of 2! (4 x 101 via Mile house and 4 X no1 via Mutley). 2/2a and 2b provide 9 buses an hour to plystock as well. All as per travel line. Service 36 is also more frequent and over longer period of day between city and Stoke.
DeleteI suppose you could also argue that people could just get on and off the 1 at the University and walk through from and to the Station. It is just a shame that it makes for a less convenient connection.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I have no idea how many people actually use the bus between Tavistock and Plymouth to connect to and from train services .....
