Just in case any of your readers are concerned, I am happy to confirm that the Running Day, organised by the Devon General Omnibus Trust is going ahead on Sunday next 19th March. We have gathered more than 20 ex Devon General, Exeter City Transport and other appropriate vehicles to provide services radiating out from the bus station between 1000 and 1600. The event had been advertised before the delay to the closure had been announced and we felt that we owed it to our supporters to continue to provide the event, rather than defer it until some future date when the bus station eventually closes.
Thus, although it is premature to say "Goodbye" to the bus & coach station just yet, the running day will still go ahead on Sunday and we are very grateful to Stagecoach South West for their support and assistance in allowing this event to take place from their still-working bus station. It will also be something of a tribute to our late friend Phil Platt, who first put the wheels in motion for this event, before his sad death in December. A few pictures from our 2015 running day at Teignmouth, to show the types of vehicle that might be seen out and about on the roads of Exeter
