Late news for Plymouth Citybus which as it starts from this weekend just gone appears here now rather than waits for the next Cornwall Transit edition. VOSA does appear to be taking its time to get these through the system at the moment…
Due to the road closure above the service 73 will have a revised timetable between the above dates. This will also include a diversion from Sandplace via Morval and Widegates before arriving in Looe. The 72 will also see the removal of the Sunday service but this will be covered by the 73 revised Sunday Timetable during this road closure.
- 72 Plymouth City Centre - Saltash - Looe - Pelynt
- 73 Liskeard - Looe - Pelynt - Polperro
- 73A Liskeard - Looe - Pelynt - Polperro
- 73B Looe - Liskeard

Why do they not use Double Deckers on the Cornwall routes? Especially for the 72 and 11/11A. I've seen them on the 12 and 70 etc.
ReplyDeleteThey only use Double Deckers and a few scania's (Single deckers) on Routes 70/71 because of the Torpoint Ferry.
Delete72 and 11/11A have height restrictions at St Germans and Bodmin Parkway respectively.
ReplyDeleteBecause it's not easy to get a double decker through St Germans due to the bridge being on a blind bend. Service 11/11A a double decker will not get under the railway bridge at Bodmin Parkway.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't even get a double decker uner the railway bridge in St Germans which is why if PCB use doubles they divert them along the main road
DeleteWestern National seemed to manage to get double-deckers through St. Germans quite easily - although theirs were all low-height, so that may be the difference.
DeleteI'm sure double deckers were used on the 72 a couple of summer ago -- but only on some journeys, all of which ran via Trerulefoot rather than via St Germans, and hence avoiding the low bridge.
