With the closure of Bretonside the new coach pick up / drop off stops are now open on Derrys Cross Roundabout. Richard Smith sent in these photos of the newly opened facility
I know there is not a lot of love in the room for this new arrangement but I think they have done a neat job. Its not ideal but its a lot better than many other towns and cities manage. I can see it getting quite busy at times in the summer though…
Banana shaped bays for rectangular coaches ! Still the road layout enforces this design.
ReplyDeleteThey've done their best in Plymouth. Let's see what they manage to provide for coaches in Exeter.
Bretonside is still open as a lot of coaches still park there during the day
ReplyDeleteYes there were 14 coaches parked at Bretonside today, the most seen for a long time.
DeleteGiving that an average coach holds 50+ passengers at least 12 of them will be able to sit down whilst the rest wait in the rain. Not ideal if you are a senior citizen!!
ReplyDeleteits not clear who can drop off here as it looks like a bus stop and has bus stop marked on the road, this will add to confusion, are service buses going to drop off here as well, taxis will park there etc, as mentioned before European touring coaches will have to disembark passengers onto the road, a bit of white paint on the floor is no protection, its the best of a bad idea and design. ideally the coach station should staywhere it was and had the new white elephant built above it...
