Sometimes you get a bit of luck when youy are out and about with your camera. Carl Berry certainly did when he caught this brand new beauty in Bristol, presuambly route learning
Stagecoach Devon 54319 YY65VXU in the new Falcon livery.
Working at the airport i look forward to seeing these.
its just a shame stagecoach don't bring the Belle Express through bristol to the airport could create a nice link between north and south and a regular bristol - airport services e.g every 30 minutes :)
the National express 404 always drops people off and picks up at the airport and you find a lot of people traveling up from the south west so this should do well i look forward to seeing the timetable i do wonder if there might be scope for a it being extended into cornwall and onto Penzance in the future if it develops well Maybe a Penzance Truro St Austell Bodmin Launceston Exeter and up to Bristol Airport service might do well as well.
Seems that Stagecoach's authorisation at The Ride has just jumped from 42 vehicles to a whopping 102 according to VOSA. No doubt that will give the scope to cover South West Falcon and allow for the Megabus coaches to finally transfer from Rugby. It does seem a much bigger increase than needed right now, though!
Park and ride buses Megabus and Falcon coaches make up the numbers remember the park and ride ones were on loan from first. The Megabus coaches are on loan to Rugby so will move to Plymouth now.
Yes, the park and ride buses are on loan but they operate on Stagecoach Operators discs - so they are already running on the original 42 discs allocation.
This is all pure guesswork as you can't tell how many discs Stagecoach Devon has from the VOSA website but I suspect that the delay over the Megabus allocation was down to needing to apply for extra discs for that operation and for Falcon. I'd imagine that the allocation increase at The Ride was applied for at the same time. It doesn't mean they now have 102 discs at Plymouth, it just means they have the ability to run 102 vehicles from that depot at any one time, if they want to. 42 seemed sufficient for the initial work back from Sepetember but Megabus and Falcon would increase that to, I don't know, 60-ish? When First built The Ride, it was designed to accommodate an allocation of 100 or thereabouts, so I suspect that Stagecoach has just taken the opportunity to have an authorisation granted for its full capacity. That doesn't mean they have anything else planned, of course. They might do, or they might not, but I wouldn't read anything into the figure of 102.
Any First loan buses will be part of the 42 as they are Stagecoach buses whilst on loan. This will leave a huge spare capacity at the Ride even after Megabus and Falcon. I reckon space for extra 50?? Are the tridents all staying as well ad the new 26?
