Seen at Milehouse shortly after arrival:
then later on a short test run around the City Centre...
Four lined up at Milehouse: WJ65BYN WJ65BYO WJ65BYP WJ65BYR
Meanwhile 501 is now out of Blue Flash and out and about in service in plain red. Its expected to receive Red Flash logos later.
No pay rise for Citybus staff this year - too much money spent on paint!
ReplyDeleteThey are actually E40D's not E400's, please get your facts right
ReplyDeleteEnviro 400 and Enviro 40Ds are the same bus. i dont know any different in them
DeleteDoes it actually matter what it is? A bus is a bus, I would agree with Graham that they are E400s!
DeleteMay I suggest that before you make a bold statement about someone getting their facts right, that you go onto the Alexander Dennis web site where you will see the current models are Enviro 400 and Enviro 400 MMC.
DeleteThe version of an Enviro 400 will be designated E40D when it is a conventional Diesel bus or E40H when it is the Hybrid version.
So they are as Graham correctly said Enviro 400's.
Thanks everyone! I was referring mainly to the bodywork being Enviro 400's hence E400 which does seem to be recognised as such by many people. I believe the chassis is officially the Alexander Dennis Trident E40D.
DeleteThey are actually classed rightly as E40D's & E40H's & the single deckers are classed as E20D's, this is ADL's standard policy for the range & has been for a while
ReplyDeleteADL market the double deck as the Enviro 400, the demonstrator tells us this!

It is great to see a major investment in new high quality vehicles by Plymouth Citybus. However, what a dreadful colour scheme this yellow livery is. Hopefully it will look a lot better once the branding is applied. Even so they probably won't look as good as the Blue and Red Flash vehicles. More like a fleet of school buses...!
ReplyDeleteFrom the images I have seen these should look really good in the new yellow flash livery. Better than the red version in my opinion
DeleteNothing wrong with Yellow Buses - but maybe I'm biased given my home town is Bournemouth!
DeleteBuses are never going to look their best in allover unrelieved yellow (or allover unrelieved anything else for that matter). Wait and see what they look like when the Flash branding is applied.
DeleteAnd I do like yellow buses - apart from Bournemouth, Reading Buses uses yellow (with orange) successfully for its route 26-branded buses.
Personally I would have preferred standard Citybus livery with route branding instead of all the flash routes. But we never know. Maybe Stagecoach will bring some branding to Plymouth!
ReplyDeleteI thought Stagecoach already had - going to Torquay and back!
DeleteA vast improvement on the last bus to have a yellow livery!!, a fine type of bus but sadly way past its usefulness.
ReplyDelete104 is now on the road in Blue Flash worded for City Centre - Derriford - Woolwell/Tamerton.
