First Plymouth have given advance notice for a few changes to Plymouth services in August, these include the first alterations to the 2 since competition with Plymouth Citybus joining in the fun. Stagecoach also have a few changes announced for August along with one or two services changing in the next week or so. Finally we have Local Link service 60-62 new timetables starting early July.

AN EVENING bus service between Brixham and Dartmouth is being brought back by Stagecoach – but only during the three days of Dartmouth Regatta.The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta runs from Thursday, August 27, to Saturday, August 29, and is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors to enjoy not only sailing and rowing but also fireworks, an air display programme that includes the Red Arrows, live music and sports events. Torbay Council confirmed that Stagecoach has registered bus route 18X with a double decker to operate on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of Dartmouth Regatta week only, from Brixham Town Square to Kingswear Banjo via Churston and Kennels Road. Outbound buses will leave Brixham Town Square Stand A hourly from 8.30pm to 11.30pm, while inbound buses will leave Kingswear Banjo hourly from 9pm, with the last at midnight. Stagecoach stopped running the evening service on March 30 due to Torbay Council's withdrawal of bus subsidies, which led to the formation of a 'Save the 18' community campaign.

Stagecoach Fleet News

Stagecoach has invested over £2 million in 18 new buses with on-board wi-fi for Exeter. The 18 new buses – worth a total of £2.1m – for Exeter’s E and F1/F2 routes are equipped with free wi-fi, allowing customers to connect, share and play on the move The launch of the new vehicles will take place in Bedford Square, Princesshay on Wednesday, July 1, at 10am with the first 10 vehicles going into service that day and the rest to follow across the month. Stagecoach South West representatives, local stakeholders, Radio Exe and Exeter’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Olwen Foggin, will all attend. Members of the public are also welcome and will have the opportunity to look round one of the new vehicles as well as claim one of 50 free Group Explorer vouchers or other freebies. Stagecoach South West is also launching a month-long competition to win an iPad and a year’s free bus travel. To enter, visit stagecoachbus.com/southwest.     All the First Plymouth changes are temporary for the Fireworks in August. It has been a while since they have done this but there will be extra evening services before and after the event on PR1 and PR2 (normal) but also the 1 (saltash) 2 (plymstock) 3 (devonport/St Budeaux) and 3a as it was (mutley/Peverell/Honicknowle/West Park) plus 81 (Torpoint) . This does seem to be a more forward thinking First now/ Surprised they missed the 6 though to Efford.?
