PLANS for a new £4million railway station for Torquay could be submitted in September.

The station, on the old Newton Road, is designed to encourage Torbay Hospital staff and visitors, people working at Edginswell business park and residents living in the hundreds of new homes proposed in the Edginswell Valley to let the train take the strain. It will also serve residents in The Willows, and staff working in the Broomhill Way employment area as well as The Willows retail park. The station should be open in 2017.
