Plymouth Citybus 12th April 2015...
True to form Plymouth Citybus have given plenty of notice of their timetable changes for 12th April. I will be having a much closer look at these changes over the coming weeks so for now we have just the full run downFrom 12th April 2015 a number of our services will be revised. Full lists of the revisions are listed below.
The bigger changes will be to Saltash and Plymstock services, re-deploying resource to allow both to benefit from an up to every 7 minute service on the main corridor, increased from the current 10 minute.
The changes will also the see the introduction of a new cross city route, linking the current 43 and 50. This will be service number 50. We currently have a £2m order for new buses for this route, which will be delivered in the summer.
To allow the above to happen we have had to renumber some services, which are also listed below.

do you know what is going to happen with target travels 46 bus?
ReplyDeletei think the 47 will take over that
DeleteNo reason why anything will happen with Target Travel 46. No one is likely to confuse the two, they don't share any of the same route. We had two 5's in Plymouth for a while with both Citybus and First using the number at the same time. I don't recall it being a big problem.
DeleteAppears that the 79 is re-branded as Go Cornwall as a result.
ReplyDeleteAs the 72 and 79 are paired with the 11 and 12 respectively, all routes, except the 74 and 78 pair, serve Plymouth. Thus the management is simplified with all buses and drivers, except the 74/78, visiting Plymouth every day. Liskeard outstation is no longer remote.
Just a quick note - it is the 73 that will interwork with the 11 not the 72 - the Citybus announcement is in error.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that - I was wondering how the 72 would work. Makes a lot more sense now.
DeleteTalking of notice - Anyone seen any for the 30 at St Austell? Having run since the beginning of January it was registered on 17th Feb with an end date of 20th Feb!
ReplyDeleteSimilarly anyone ever seen anything for the First 10 at Wellington Somerset? It was taken over on 28 July last year and does not appear on any First publicity (It runs, is on Traveline and has a bus stop paper slip). It should end in April with a Demand Responsive replacement. It had a Truronian midi coach on it for ages.
Notice the 33 is cut to every 20 mins now First have left Keyham. Funny that, so now Keyham have the same level of service as they had with First 4 but paying loads more. Cheers Citybus
ReplyDeleteEvidently people were willing to pay more for the better quality service Plymouth Citybus were providing in comparison to FDC. If people were happy with what First were offering, they would have continued to catch them, and it would be them left in Keyham, not PCB!
DeleteAnd this is what will happen all over the city if Citybus have their way. Come on people, let's start a revolution. Boycott Citybus and start using First
DeleteHopefully with new buses due for 43/50 route - the buses being replaced can be used in saltash instead the rickety old darts!!
ReplyDeleteAnd have Go-Ahead announced their annual fares rise yet ???
