Preservation

Thanks to Dave Jenkins, Ralph Delbridge and Tom Michaels for this quick clip of former Plymouth Citybus Leyland Atlantean NDR509J which is a recent addition to the PCTPG family and is now moving under its own steam again! Clearly they have a lot to do, but this is going to be well worth the wait…

Future Event – well worth the trip

The Cornwall Bus Preservation Society in association with the Thames Valley & Great Western Omnibus Trust invites you to come to sunny, warm West Cornwall for our event on Easter Sunday 20 April 2013. Bring all the family and friends and spend the Easter weekend in Cornwall. This will be the 7th vintage bus running day in Penzance following the original Final VR Running Day on 9 December 2006 – yes it’s more than 7 years since VRs were withdrawn from service. For the die-hard enthusiasts we may also organise a run out on Easter Monday morning. We did this after the 2006 event when three VRs did the 300 circular Penzance – Marazion – St Ives – Land’s End – Penzance.
The Running Day will be based at Penzance Bus Station with vintage bus services running from 10.00 until 17.00. Routes will include Penzance to Camborne, St Ives, St Just, Hayle, Marazion/Perranuthnoe, Praa Sands, Paul/Sheffield and out to Sennen Cove and Land’s End. In addition to CBPG’s VRs and other vehicles, visitors already promised include FLF 2019, LWL 1613 and VRs 1056, 1106, 1157 and 1203. Again it is hoped to be able to run small vehicles into Mousehole, a highlight of the last 3 years’ events.
If you would like to bring a vehicle an entry form can be downloaded from the website below. Programmes will be available in advance from 2 weeks before the event from the undersigned for £5.50 inc P&P.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Kind regards Colin Billington Chairman Thames Valley & Great Western Omnibus Trust
