Back into service: We’re so used to rebranding subtle or otherwise and web makeovers these days and it isn’t just operators doing it
Grettons: At one time Grettons ran a lot of AEC/Plaxtons, and now run quite a few Scanias with Plaxton bodies. I have tried to pick out the more unusual vehicles that they have operated
What is it About Service 12 that Everyone Finds so Difficult?: Following another approach by The Man the county is to review its presentation, but with operator and authority at sixes and sevens what hope for the poor passenger?
Anglian Decker Activity East Lancs Lolyne bodied Dennis Trident 721 W821NNJ has been transferred to sister company Hedingham Buses at Clacton
I have heard a strong rumour city bus gonna be going oakhampton on a new route number 11
ReplyDeleteWhat on earth would be the point of that - unless they have won a Devon County Council tender against Beacon Bus. It cannot, surely, be a route with any commercial potential - there just isn't the population there to support it. Anyway, Okehampton people would be much more likely to want to go to Exeter for city shopping - it is nearer, much quicker to get to and, arguably, a better shopping centre, especially now that John Lewis have a large department store there.

it about time first had some new used buses from else where ,but we want get out ,not even 2 nd buses but younger
ReplyDeletedon't listen to rumours.
ReplyDeleteHow many are left to enter service and are there any more on the way?.
ReplyDeleteMore old buses entering service on the streets of Plymouth. Go Ahead Plymouth are getting more and more like another big operator for bringing in old buses!
ReplyDeleteI see you are conveniently forgetting the 20 brand new double decks that have also arrived in the past six months.
DeleteBetter to have an older bus, than no bus at all, which has happened in Staddiscombe with the other big operator!
DeleteExcept that they also buy new buses too. ALso most of these secondhand buses would be considered 'new' by that other big operator!
DeleteAnd in Billacombe, Merafield and Mutton Cove by Plymouth Citybus!
Deleteyh.... like worst late western running round in 40 yr old high speed trains..... get a life paul.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be some personal grudge with First here..doesn't there Mike ?
DeleteFirst Great Western have no say what-so-ever in what trains they run. It is the Government which dictates what trains are purchased / operated etc. through the Department of Transport.
DeleteAnd since when have personal attacks been permitted on Plymothian Transit? My original comments were concerning Plymouth Citybus to prompt further debate. I wasn't criticising you Mike so don't take it so personally. Perhaps you need to grow up???
Re: Paul Furse; did you miss the arrival of the brand new Enviros?!!.I suppose in order to replace ageing Darts a balance has to be made Plymouth and Cornwall have always where everybody else's cast offs end up
ReplyDeleteHardly surprising Paul. At least at the moment First are just keeping their old ones running.
ReplyDeletePaul Furse made a perfectly valid point, and those who mentioned the new bus investment responded with a valid point. Why do you have to be so obnoxious Mike Hudson?
ReplyDeleteMichael Hudson might be bound by a social media policy, like many bus company employees. These sorts of policies prevent employees of companies from even mentioning their employers, amongst many other issues.
DeleteInterestingly the HST's were re-engined several years ago. Whilst M Hudson may wish to draw comparisons the investment, cost and government input make any comparison irrelevant. Fair comments from P Furse and Plymouth is certainly seeing a lot of cascaded vehicles. Sad to see comments such as 'get a life'. This isn't a okay ground and perhaps Graham would care to comment. Martyn.
ReplyDeleteMartyn and others do have a point! By all means disagree with each other, but please refrain from personal comments about each other thanks!
