Just a reminder that the 2nd Torbay Vintage Bus Running Day will be taking place on Sunday 5th September at Shedden Hill car park on Torquay seafront and a short walk from the railway station and town centre. Stagecoach’s frequent route 12 passes the site as does First’s X80 from Plymouth and Totnes – alight at the Hi-Flyer Balloon.
We have a good variety of vehicles promised, many of which will be running in service. This year, we have some additional routes to make the most of the stunning views across Torbay. There are plenty of photographic opportunities around the seafront and loads for the family to do if they’re not interested in the buses! Hope to see you there.

Free bus travel for over-60s is likely to escape the chop in next month's comprehensive spending review after it became a battleground in the general election leadership debates, but its £1bn annual cost still looms large for the Department for Transport and the Department of Communities and Local Government, which share the expenditure. The chief executive of Go-Ahead, Keith Ludeman, said his own experience of applying for a pass had suggested one way of saving taxpayer cash while preserving the scheme in its entirety.
