The road works continue |
More road closures for the bus companies to deal with, although this probably only hits Plymouth Citybus this time round... From Monday 12th April 2010, gas main installation work will force the closure of the top end of Alexandra Road for approximately 4 weeks. Unfortunately, due to the location of the closure, and the unsuitability of adjoining road for bus access, we will be unable to service Alexandra Road or Lipson Vale. All services will be diverted as follows: 8: City Centre, Exeter Street, Embankment Road, Laira Flyover, Pike Road, Blandford Road, Torridge Way, Efford Lane, Old Laira Road, Laira, Laira Flyover, Embankment Road, Exeter Street, Charles Street, Mayflower Street, Western Approach, Royal Parade. 8D: City Centre, Exeter Street, Embankment Road, Laira Flyover, Pike Road, Blandford Road, Torridge Way, Efford Lane, Old Laira Road, Laira, Laira Flyover, Embankment Road, Exeter Street, Viaduct, Royal Parade continuing on normal route to Devonport. 8A/D: As service 8 outbound to Blandford Road, then normal route inbound to City Centre. 9: City Centre, Exeter Street, Embankment Road, Laira Flyover, Laira, Old Laira Road, Efford Lane, Torridge Way, Blandford Road, Pike Road, Laira Flyover, Embankment Road, Exeter Street, Charles Street, Mayflower Street, Western Approach, Royal Parade. 20/21A/22/51A/51D: All of these services will run via Exeter Street and Embankment Road to Plympton and back. 110: This bus will service as far as Laira Narrows, the run via Efford Lane, Torridge Way, Blandford Road, Lower Compton, Mannamead Road and Mutley Plain to North Hill, then continue normal route. Pupils for Lipson Community College are advised to alight at Laira. 47: The 23:35 from Royal Parade will not service Alexandra Road, Lipson Vale, Efford Lane, but will instead run as a normal service 47 via Mutley, Mannamead Road, Lower Compton and Blandford Road.
