Timetable changes - phantom and real

I try to check the VOSA web site every week or so just to see what future service changes have been applied for. This past week saw quite a large entry for First Devon and Cornwall: PH0004983/45 - FIRST DEVON & CORNWALL LTD, THE RIDE, CHELSON MEADOW, PLYMOUTH, PL9 7JT Cancellation Accepted: Operating between CALLINGTON New Road and PLYMOUTH Bus Station given service number 71 effective from 21-Mar-2010. PH0004983/72 - FIRST DEVON & CORNWALL LTD, THE RIDE, CHELSON MEADOW, PLYMOUTH, PL9 7JT Cancellation Accepted: Operating between POLPERRO Crumplehorn and BRETONSIDE Bus Station given service number 72 effective from 21-Mar-2010. PH0004983/88 - FIRST DEVON & CORNWALL LTD, THE RIDE, CHELSON MEADOW, PLYMOUTH, PL9 7JT Cancellation Accepted: Operating between BODMIN St Lawrence Clock and PLYMOUTH Notre Dame School given service number 147 effective from 21-Mar-2010. PH0004983/151 - FIRST DEVON & CORNWALL LTD, THE RIDE, CHELSON MEADOW, PLYMOUTH, PL9 7JT Cancellation Accepted: Operating between SALTASH Fore Street and POLBATHIC given service number 70 effective from 21-Mar-2010. PH0004983/236 - FIRST DEVON & CORNWALL LTD, THE RIDE, CHELSON MEADOW, PLYMOUTH, PL9 7JT Cancellation Accepted: Operating between TORPOINT SCHOOL and ST LEVEN GATE, H.M DOCKLAND DEVONPORT given service number P & R effective from 21-Mar-2010. These were just the local applications, there were just as many Cornish changes registered. It was when people started looking at these in more depth it was realised that these services don't actually exist anymore so this seems to be a tidying up exercise by VOSA more than anything else. One other VOSA application that is current is that for Target Travel: PH0006742/33 - ROBERT JOHN RISK, 4 ARCADIA, ELBURTON, PLYMOUTH, PL9 8EF Variation Accepted by SN: Operating between Royal Parade, Plymouth and Derriford given service number 14 effective from 01-Mar-2010. To amend Route and Timetable. I will hopefully have more details on this change shortly.
