Council conspiracy or cock up?
AN EXTRAORDINARY row erupted yesterday after Tory councillors cut short debate on whether to push ahead with proposals for the sell-off of Citybus.
The ruling Conservatives were accused of shooting themselves in the foot after Cabinet members refused to answer questions and Conservative members of an influential scrutiny panel stopped debate in its tracks, using a procedural tactic.

ReplyDeleteIn the Council debate fiasco, it must be remembered that Councillor Ian Bowyer sat there for an hour saying nothing before declaring an interest as he is a share holder in Taxifast, one of the Companies interested in buying Citybus. He claims he did not know anything about the plans before June 5th. Obviously he has been on Planet Mars for his holidays. He has been one of the keenest Councillors for the sale as of course he could stand to make huge personal financial gains if Taxifast were successful. And we thought it was just the MP's who were corrupt!
