Thought you might like to see this photo of ex-Plymouth Crossley 335 (DJY 965). It was taken by me at the Barry Island Transport Rally on 8th June 2008
Thanks to Mike to allowing me to share this one. Its always nice to know that such fine buses are still out there being very well looked after!

As you know, I very clearly remember the lovely Leyland PD2s in service in Plymouth but I also have to admit to a vague recollection of these even older, albeit to me less attractive, Crossley's on the streets of the city (not that I knew what they were until seeing the caption this morning!) There were no single deckers of any description in the fleet as best I can recall in the late 1950's and these Crossleys, including I believe fleet no.1, were comparitively few and far between at that time, the PD2's being very much to the fore. An excellent photo of a Crossley in superb condition by the looks of it and thank you to you both for publishing the image.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave.
ReplyDeleteI am too young to remember the Crossleys and I must admit I had them down as Titans until I read the caption too.
Its mainly Mike to thank for sending me the photo, one of several people who send photos in these days. Makes blogging all the more enjoyable
All the best
Graham
The Crossleys were used on routes 23/24 (Beaumont Road, Mount Gould) in the early 50s.
