Following on from my earlier posting about the Derriford Hospital bus stop I have received the following good news from The Sustainable Transport Team for Plymouth City Council
I can advise you that plans are under way to improve the public transport facilities at Derriford Hospital and part of this work will include replacing the existing bus shelters and poles and flags. Bus shelters will be provided by JCDecaux under the Sponsored Supply & Maintenance of Street Furniture Contract between PCC and JCD and will be cleaned and maintained under the contract specifications. The shelters will be to the existing Plymouth standard and be RTPI compliant. The existing bus stopping points are also under review. These have been a cause for concern to both bus operators and passengers alike due to the high number of buses calling at the hospital and the congestion this causes. I understand that measures to address these issues will be incorporated in the revised design of the bus bays and the work is planned to be completed during the next 12 months.
Thanks to team for contacting me and allowing me to post this good news! I personally cant wait - and look forward to the improvements.
