Not having a good week - but finally managed to spend some time catching up with local news. It seems that one of the options to improve traffic flow when the new Sherford development takes shape is a relief road through St Judes along the track of the old 'disused' railway. Understandably local residents are 'up in arms' although the council stress it is only one of several options being looked at.
I am a bit bemused by the term 'disused' though as it does still get used by trains through to cattedown.
I'm fairly sure there's still a weekly train down to the Cattedown branch, isn't there? Either way, the costs of buying the land off Network Rail would presumably make this a non-starter anyway.
