Not really Plymouth area but I am happy to pass on advance news of an event in Weymouth which may interest local enthusiasts...
It is proposed to have a vintage bus running day in Weymouth On 17th June 2007 to mark the fortieth anniversary of the Bristol RE buses entering service on the Portland route in June 1967. These were the first rear engine vehicles in the area. Full details Here
The West Country Historic Omnibus & Transport Trust (WHOTT) will be separately organising a Royal Blue / Associated Motorways preserved coach run to coincide with this event. The run will consist of feeder services on 15 / 16 June to a central site (at this stage Cheltenham, Oxford and Birmingham sites are being considered). The main run will commence from one of these sites on 16 June and head to Weymouth using the routes used by Royal Blue / AM in the pre-motorway era.
