Plymouth Citybus drivers have withdrawn the threat of strike action. Staff had started the process of voting for industrial action in a dispute with the company over the sacking of a driver. But a union leader today confirmed that Terry Prout would instead be taking a claim for unfair dismissal to an employment tribunal.
Whilst still not knowing the full story it is good to see that this is going to be sorted out the proper way and not through strike action.
Omnibus covers this story in his own blog today which is worth a read here.
In that context its worth noting the one comment the story has on the This is Plymouth web page.
Managing director John Ackroyd said: "The last thing we wanted was for our
passengers to suffer a major disruption in service.WE SUFFER EVERY DAY WHEN WE GET ON A CITY BUS.
