Wheelchair access
This is the wheelchair lift on NER621 34199 ex Airbus Olympian as used on the X80 Plymouth - Torbay service. Its not the best looking of contraptions and does seem to impeded vision for the driver somewhat, although I guess its probably not as bad as it looks from here.
These are now superceded somewhat by the newer low floor buses now being built which certainly gives a lot easier access for all. From what I hear these buses are ideal for the X80 and many of the people I have spoken to prefer these to the low floor Tridents. The driver of this bus, a friend of mine, is quite happy to drive them. He actually drives it on school bus duties although with their low seating capacity on the lower deck they are not ideal for the run they are used on.
